Why should I consider a franchise?

The essence of a franchise can be summed up in a word--success!  The U.S. Department of Commerce has shown that franchisees are likely to be successful over 90% of the time, whereas independent start-up companies have much less than a 50/50 chance to succeed.

The franchise has already been proven.  All the mistakes have already been made and solved.  At SAF-T Auto Centers, we've been perfecting our business system for over 25 years to ensure that you have the best chance possible to succeed.  All you have to do is what you do best--repair cars!

Am I given territorial protection?
Yes.  We will establish a marketing territory for your franchise.  No other SAF-T Auto Center will be located in your area.

Do you offer any financing?

While we do not offer financing, we will introduce you to financial institutions that can offer you the financial assistance you need.  You should keep in mind that because franchises have such a high success rate, financial institutions are more likely to extend assistance to them than to a private concern.

How long does my franchise last?

The initial term of your franchise is 10 years, renewable for 2 years thereafter subject to lease availability and the approval of the franchisor.

Where do I get my parts and merchandise?
We have established relationships with a number of national parts suppliers.  This means you don't have to keep a large and expensive inventory at your location.  This also means that you'll get the highest quality for the lowest possible price.  Our Operations Department will recommend to you suppliers that meet our requirements in our area.

What about forms and other business aides?
We have designed a complete set of easy to use forms and other vital business aides for the correct and efficient operation of your unit.

Can I sell my business?

Yes.  Like any other business, you can sell your franchise to any buyer approved by the franchisor.  There will be a transfer fee for administrative and legal expenses to effect the transfer.

Can I buy more than one unit?

Yes, provided that you meet our financial, operational, and management qualifications.   You must also meet a reasonable development schedule for the number of units contracted.

What are my royalty payments?

Unlike most franchises which charge a royalty that's a percentage of sales, SAF-T Auto Center will charge you only a flat fee of $1500 per month for the first five years, with increases thereafter determined by CPI.  This means regardless of what your sales are, your royalty payments will remain the same during any five year period.   This gives you incentive to grow.

What about advertising?
Advertising is necessary to attract customers.  We strongly recomend that you spend 6% of your gross sales for the creation and purchase of advertising in your local market.  These dollars are managed by you for you in your market.

How much can I earn?

Your profit or loss will depend on a number of factors, such as the amount of time you spend on the job, how good an operator you are, and market conditions.  Naturally, as in any business venture, there is no guarantee as to success or profitability.   However, franchise organizations such as ours considerably minimize your risk by giving you the benefit of a well-organized system and concept.
